Honor God

Greetings fellow Earthling Eskimos! This past week Tulsa experienced record breaking snow and cold temperatures. All schools and many businesses were closed for most of last week!  It reminded me of many of the snows I enjoyed as a boy. I grew up in Utah and that state promotes itself as a major winter state promoting it as having “The Greatest Snow on Earth!” I guess all that promotion worked as the Winter Olympics were held in Utah several years ago. While growing up, I never remembered school being closed due to snow or winter weather…it just never happened. Why…when I was a boy I had to walk barefoot to school uphill both ways!  NOT! Okay-enough already about cold and snow.

This past week I am excited to report that our college rolled out our new Fabulous 5 Corporate Core Values! Over the next five weeks I plan to focus on each one of them listing them in the order our CEO, Teresa Knox and I determined best for our company. I am very excited to share our new Corporate Core Values with you. Our first value is Honor GodLive in a way that pleases God in all parts of life—thoughts, actions, words, and relationships and do so with honesty, integrity, character, empathy and passion.

My favorite verse from the Bible is:

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths.”-Proverbs 3:5-6 (King James Bible)

My wife, Susan, knew that I loved this scripture so much that she had a beautiful plaque made up with these verses and had it framed for me (it now hangs on our bedroom wall). This passage of scripture emphasizes the importance of trusting in God. Sometimes we may not understand things that happen in life or why they happen, but if we trust in God we Honor God and by so doing will receive peace in our hearts knowing  that there is a reason behind life’s challenges, even though we may not fully understand the reason in this lifetime. There have been many times in my life that I know God has-“directed my paths” and has helped me to do and accomplish things that I never could have done without his help. I firmly believe that I was divinely directed to my current position as President of CCC, CSC and OTC. I had been praying for an opportunity to touch lives and share what I love and God opened the door for me. On February Fourth, I celebrated my 8 Year Anniversary at CCC, CSC and OTC and I can honestly say that I absolutely love what I do every day! I hope that you find that same passion in your life-whatever it is you elect to do! I want that for you as I know how important it is for each of us to know that we are contributing to life in a positive way. I believe that by honoring and trusting in God, He will direct you to opportunities in life that will be a great blessing to you and your family.

Make it a Great week!
