The 3 C’s of a successful business and personal relationship are to communicate, cooperate and celebrate. It takes the minds of many to nurture an idea from conception to reality. Ideas and input from outside sources can only help improve and refine the project. Partnerships draw on each other’s strengths. Partners learn to trust, learn how to control egos, and learn to value someone else’s view. Partners encourage or provide roadblocks to protect the project from a crash & burn demise.
Teamwork is a great starting point for treating fellow partners with respect. Teamwork is not just a word to tack on a group of people during a competition. We all need to refine the fine art of working with each other rather than against to get something accomplished.
The best “teams” in any organization are the ones that help people become better and achieve more together than anyone could have done alone. One of the 7 habits of highly effective people that Dr. Stephen R. Covey talks about is “synergy.” Synergy is a trait of highly effective teams, and 1 + 1 + more adds up to many great projects with successful outcomes!
